While there are a number of us eagerly awaiting additional AF-S primes, I doubt we represent much of a real market for Nikon. And the addition of AF-S to any of the existing ffl primes will certainly increase their cost.
The world wants zoom lenses and for good reason. Speed is really the only dramatic advantage that primes offer over zooms now, especially in the wide angle sector. Zooms have come so far because of the demand and the respective cash flow for R&D. Even the pro-sumer zooms are excellent performers.are an enthus
I imagine the first primes to see AF-S will not be the inexpensive glass but more probably primes like the 85/1.4, 35/2, etc.
The D50 might be a better body for you if you prefer prime lenses.
