"new D50 owner with a question"

US

Hello all,

took my new camera out friday on a combination "fishing and trying out new camera" day. the leaves are peaking now here in Indiana, so I new it would be a good test.

my question is about exposure settings. when shooting pics while the sun was bright on the trees, the best results came when I underexposed about 2/3 to 1 stop. does that sound about right?

nice site. first thing I did was search for info on reformating, since the camera shop told me about reformating the card after each use. my search confimed that.

heres a few of the pics,

I think I'm going to be happy with my D50. can't wait to try it with my 80-200 2.8 lens!

Thanks

If it works it is the right thing to do. The meter will only give you a starting point.

The histogram is the key to good exposures.

Looks like you have it right.

Check out enhancing or intensifying filters for more punch.

Beautiful photos there. I love the colors. Looks like the settings you used worked out quite well.

Thanks for the tip on reformatting. I will start doing that after each use!

Did they give any reason why it's better to reformat each time?

when you delete pics from the card, some files still remain. reformating wipes it clean.

thanx for the compliments, all.
