"Switching off the microphone"

Selby, AU

Can someone please tell me how to switch off my microphone when videoing with the D90? The manual says you can switch it off and on - but doesn't say how. And Google searches have brought up nothing for me either.

There must be a way to do it but it's not obvious. Been through all the menu in the hope of finding out. Thanks.

It is located in the Movie Settings menu. You can choose whether you want to do a silent movie or catch all the noise (sounds) for your movie. Or use an external microphone for proper sounds.

Choose Sounds ON if you want it on and OFF if you want to shoot silent movie...

'Hope this helps...

Thank you for that. Do you know in the manual it doesn't say where that setting is when you look up microphone or video?
