"shutter actuations on my D90"

Is there a way to tell how many shutter actuations the D90 has made. I can't seem to find anything in the menu options that tells me. Thanks.

Download this freeware to view EXIF data including shutter actuations:

http://opanda.com/en/iexif/

Edit:

Actually, I use this one myself as I can't seem to find the shutter/image count in Opanda.

Hi Alan,

>Actually, I use this one myself as I can't seem to find the
>shutter/image count in Opanda.

Use Opanda IExif 2.3 to open a jpeg created in the camera.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page:
Total Number of Shutter Releases (9 line from the bottom)
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

Best Regards,
Marty

Thanks Steve that was also easy and free.
But I don't understand why you can't see that information right on the camera itself or at least on Nikon's own software like NX2 or even View NX which comes with the camera. I know it's probably not important to most people but if you're thinking of selling or trading in your camera it is one of the questions people ask first because you can get a idea how much the camera was used. I read somewhere (probably on this forum) the D90 is rated at 100,000 and I was very curious to see how many shutter actuations I had in the 3 years I've had the camera. As an amateur I was surprised to learn I had 7688 which is an average of 213 pictures a month. Of course some of that are pictures I deleted on the camera before downloading and which is one of the benefits of digital cameras.

If your running a Mac, you can use "Preview" to open an image.
Select the "tools" tab from the toolbar and select "Open Inspector" (CMD I).
select the exif tab and scroll down to image number. That should be the info your looking for.

Photoshop Elements allows you to get shutter actualizations under "File Info" tab. For Nikons, look under Advanced, aux:imageNumber

Love your quote...I still do not have a smart phone and am still shooting with a D90...I must admit, I am looking forward to seeing what Nikon replaces the D7000 with...I need to make larger prints.
Make the best of this day.
Daniel
