1989 Supercharged TBird: I have had this great car for over 18 years. It's fast, comfy, quiet and reliable. A real pleasure to drive. Bit of a gas guzzler though.

Hope this is topical. It's how some folks get around for sure.

EXIF info lost but here's what I remember:

D80 / 18 - 200mm VR / ISO 400

Amazing detail in the original. You can read even the smallest lettering on the machine. Anyone sez the 18 - 200 is not sharp must have a dodgy on

best wishes,

Dave,

This is one fine picture - everything about it is perfect, the composition, the light, the exposure, and the depth of field.

I would be interested to see it in a landscape crop, but I'm guesing you tried that and decided to go with this. Maybe that's what makes it so intriguing, that the viewer's eye expects it to be landscape, while the impact of this version is powerful. Really a neat presentation!

You really do some fine work, my friend!

Thanks Mike!

This was an unexpected shot that came along wile shooting a windmill. I actually shot it in portrait orientation. The surroundings were not that great so this format worked best.

If you look in my gallery the next image of the windmill with the sunset that windmill is just to my right but to close to get the train and windmill in the same shot.

My grandfather is from Scranton PA and a coal miner he used top take me the the horseshoe curve when the Railroad was still the PRR then the Penn-Central! I miss him alot and I loved that place. I even got a tour of the famed Altoona PRR works. Having not been there in many years do they still overhaul Engines there. Some of the world best trains were built at the PRR Altoona shops. I think the Juanita shops are still open overhauling the EMD locomotives but again I have not been there in years. I think a road trip is in order.

Nice shot.

I really like the angle of this shot!

Did you shoot it like that or did you rotate the images later?

The color, motion blur of the cars and the composition make this a top notch shot!

Hey, thanks a lot. I tilted the camera to get the angle, really I just wanted to add a little more dynamics since the plane was slowing down already.

Hi

This is my Mazda MX-5, I was on the way home one night from a day out with my wife when I was suddenly faced with this wonderful sky

Luckily I had my camera

So i took quite a few photos it was very hard to get the exposure right, The sky really was as vivid as that.

No filters were used and very little editing in CS2, I have taken out a lamp post that i didnt like other than that its pretty much as it was to the eye.

http://www.pbase.com/arizonasun/image/79791765

Thanks for looking, may I say there are some great shots here this month.

Thanks Craig. I converted to B&W using Capture NX--which allows you to set b&w filter color, strength, contrast, brightness, etc.

I don`t think the plane is a boeing 767 as a 767 doesn`t have winglets. I think it is an A330 instead.

Take a flight if you can - it's worth it! I "Mastered the moment with MasterCard" for $350 in Portsmouth NH in the Collings Foundation B-17 (B-909) a few years ago. Got 30 minutes of right stick time for another $350. The FAA later stopped letting non-pilots do that (boo!). It was to have been for 10 minutes but as no-one else wanted to pay the additional $350 so I got half an hour! Those big P&W Wright Cyclone engines starting up, whipping those blades around, the throbbing feeling shaking the entire plane, transported me back to the movie "12 O'clock High".

I'd had a few hours instruction in a Cessna 172 but after the B-17 I'm spoiled forever...

Somewhere we have pictures of that event but they are pre-digital Canon APX photos.

Nice photo. I especially enjoy the "blubbering" sound radial engines make. A tour service here uses a radial engine aircraft and we sometimes have them over us a couple of times on weekends. I may post a shot when opportunity arises.

"George Washington Bridge in New York City"

Luling, US

Cars and trucks crossing the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River between New Jersey and New York. Taken from the Circle Line Tour Boat in September. The New York skyline is in the background, including the Empire State Building. Notice the little, red lighthouse at the base of the superstructure. This bridge was built in 1932. We crossed this bridge 3 times during our visit to New York, and it was always packed on both the upper level and the lower level. Trucks and bus traffic can ONLY use the upper level.

This is how they get around in the Big Apple - there are 18 bridges that go to Manhattan Island.

"Lincoln Tunnel under the Hudson River in NYC"

Luling, US

A shot from the back seat of the car as we passed through the Lincoln Tunnel under the Hudson River going from New York City to New Jersey at 5:24 PM on a Monday in mid-September - rush hour.

I've never seen so much automobile traffic and so many cars and so much concrete and steel in my life as I did on this trip to the Big Apple.

We actually witnessed some real life road rage just after we exited the Lincoln Tunnel on the Jersey side - a guy in an SUV had cut off a van entering the tunnel, and the van managed to pass him and then cut him off and then slam on the brakes in front of him coming out of the tunnel right in front of us. The car between us and the SUV slammed on the brakes and got sideways on the road, and we had to stop quickly. There was an exchange of middle fingers between the SUV driver and the van driver and the innocent, sideways driver, and then everybody went along their merry way.

"Sadie Snowtubing"

Luling, US

My daughter, Sadie (at 8 years old), snowtubing down a slope in Western Massachusetts on 12/30/06.

She got around in a hurry. Once she reached the bottom, she had to drag her tube over the snow and back to the lift to go again. She didn't waste a single minute.

Can you tell that the gal from South Louisiana is having a ball? Look at that grin on her face. She wants to move so she can play in the snow everyday!!!!

In response to Reply # 0

Isle of Man, GB

Fastest man around the Isle of Man TT course John McGuinness on the start line for the 2007 600cc race.

TT riders set off individually on 4 laps of a 37 mile road circuit against the clock.

The starter, in the white coat, watches the timing clock and will tap him on the shoulder to indicate his allocated starting slot.

To be a successful motorcycle racer you need to be brave, determined, totally focused and bloody fast!

That’s awesome it looks like you had a successful air show shoot.

My air show shots were also done an a fairly overcast day but I think the clouds like the ones you have in this shot help to make better images.

This is a moment I missed when shooting the Thunderbirds. I really love your F-18 shot.

I would LOVE to say that I am this good, but truth be known, pure dumb luck. Its always better to be lucky then good. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I got this moment, and in fairly good focus. Can't wait for the next air show season.

Thanks for looking, and for the encouraging words.
