"D80 kit"

I am curious which D80 kit everyone is ordering? Body only, 18-55 or 18-135?

I myself ordered the 18-55.

Steve

I think the D80 deserves at least the 18-70mm

The 18-55mm is best suited to the D50.

I also ordered the D80 + 18-55. I got lucky and picked up the 18-200vr in that last shipment that B&H got last week, so that is what I'll use on the camera most of the time. However, I wanted to go ahead and have the 18-55 as an option for the times when I wanted to go with a shorter zoom. Plus, it's much cheaper to buy it as a kit lens....and, easier for me to buy it now while my husband is giving me the ok on moving up from film to digital with the D80!

I agree with Akira. Body only plus 18-200 VR lens. 18-200 should cover most non-professional needs, the VR is an added bonus, less equipment to carry around than two or three lenses, and no need to be changing back and forth between lenses. At least, that's the justification I'm using to spend the bucks required. Also, personal preferences play a role. Some people may want to add a 12-24 lens, although for me my needs are not that demanding.
