"Which of these two books?"

Hey guys, I'm torn between two books to supplement my manual. Which do you recommend for a newbie? I'm sure both are great but I'd like to hear your thoughts on each if you own them.

"Nikon D80 Digital Field Guide" by David D. Busch

OR

"Nikon D80 Magic Lantern Guides" by Simon Stafford

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have the Magic Lantern Guide, and Thom Hogan's - Thom's is far better...(IMHO)

i have both books as well as thom's cd. they are all good and will improve your use of your camera. if i had to pick one i would do with the field guide.

Thom's cd is far more detailed, but a second runner up is the digital field guide.

Between the two choices you mentioned, I'd pick the Field Guide. But my first choice would be Thom Hogan's book on a CD.

I purchased the Field Guide and have been very happy with it. I do not have the other one (or Thom's book/cd that has been mentioned), so I can't really compare. But I like the field guide and it has helped a lot in learning where things are and what they do. It has nice large graphics to follow. Mine is currently covered in small bright colored sticky notes and yellow highlighter! lol

Ouch. I didn't know it was only an e-book. I need something to carry with me. I'll stick with the field guide for now. Thanks for all the help guys.

Thom's prints very nicely.. take it to a Kinkos. Thom includes instructions permissions for printing.

(fyi.. any ebook can be printed, some just take more effort)

Cheers
