repair on 80-400 verII
Hi, I'm selling my Nikon 80-400 ver II and thought I would send it into Nikon repair for a check-up before selling. I've just been notified that the repair estimate is $750. I wasn't given any info on what they have found wrong. IN calling the center, I get someone who isn't directly doing the repair. They said it would take up to 48 hours to get me more details. That was 72 hours ago and not more detail. Is this what I should expect?

kstrong1 Nikonian since 08th Aug 2011Fri 27-Mar-15 08:45 PMWhat happened to the lens? It has not been out long enough to be out of warranty. Is this a NIKON service center? 5 year warranty in Canada, not sure about the US. NIKON sent you an estimate?
Standard B2 clean/repair/adjust is like $250.00. ?
$750.00 sounds like zoom mechanism is damaged. Sent in for a checkup?
Was the zoom sticking? Were there specs of metal visible in the lens?
