Voigtländer Nikon-mount AF 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5

Selling this wide-angle zoom made in Japan by Cosina (same company that makes Zeiss Nikon-mount lenses). Lens is in excellent condition, no issues to report. AF works fine and fast on my D800E and D3X. Very light-weight and useful lens for traveling, when heavier and larger lenses are not an acceptable option. Comes with both front and rear caps.

Price - $250

Shipping via Canada Post - at straight cost to buyer's destination.

Payment - via PayPal.

How do you find the IQ of this lens?
Also, how does it cope with the sun in the frame - flare/ghosting?

John

I find it pretty good actually for the price. I should take a couple of shots and post them here for reference.

This lens has been marketed under several brand names. I had the Nikon AF mount Vivitar Series 1 lens in the mid 90's. It was a very good lens, sharp with typical barrel distortion of budget wide angle zooms.

Took a few shots today with this lens mounted on D800E.

1) Straight into the sun (f/5.6 at 31mm)

2) At 6' from the wall (f/5.6 at 35mm)

3) At 4' (with 200% crop)

As I said earlier, this is a good lens for the money. Would you get a better performance from a Nikkor AF-S 17-35mm f/2.8? Of course. But you'd have to pay almost $1,700 for it.
