For Sale here is a Manfrotto (Bogen) 3071 Silver/Chrome finish 3-Section Boom with caster wheels. It's in excellent condition, and includes the counterweight to offset the weight of the strobe and light modifier you suspend from the opposite end of the boom arm. It's rated to hold 15lbs. It has the standard size post like light stands have to connect your lighting system to the end of it.

This boom was purchased new by me back in the 1990s as I occasionally shot products for the photo lab I worked for at the time. Since I left that lab in 2000 I haven't used this boom since, so hopefully someone can put this to good use rather than it sitting in my closet. Pictures of it are below. In the assembled picture I only used 2 of the 3 sections so I could get the whole boom stand in my limited space, the 3rd section is leaning up against the stand on the floor.

I used my White Lightning Ultra 1200 monolight with a Large Photoflex softbox with this boom and it worked great. Having the boom on wheels made it very easy to position the softbox above the product stage, and when the counterweight is properly set on the opposite end, it makes adjusting the height of the softbox very easy. Just loosen the lever controlling the angle and move the arm up or down, then lock it in place. I use a White Lightning RC-1 to control the output of my monolights so I don't need to access the light itself once it's set up during a shoot. This boom stand would also work great for portraits for a hair light positioned above your subject(s).

The boom assembles/disassembles pretty easily with a single allen wrench (included), and the boom sections have plastic clips to run any wires neatly against the boom arm so they're kept out of the way.

This product has been discontinued and a similar boom has replaced it, only in black. For more specifications and information about this boom visit the link to B&H Photo below, or feel free to do your own searches.

I'd greatly prefer to sell this locally to avoid having to pack it up to ship it. Even disassembled it's long, fairly heavy and just bulky to deal with. If you have a Fed Ex number, an account with UPS, or are willing to pay for 100% of whatever the shipping charges would be then that's fine. I'd prefer that the shipper also pack it as well so I'm not responsible or have to undertake packing this all up. Any shipping costs would be solely 100% the responsibility of the purchaser and would be additional to my asking price below.

Price: $180 for local pickup only (shipping NOT included) in the So CA Burbank or La Crescenta area depending on time arranged for pickup.

E-mail preferred to contact me if you have any questions or interest in purchasing.
I've bought & sold here several times, and have over 300 100% positive feedbacks on the bay (fotoart1).

Thanks for looking!
