I may have posted this to the wrong place....I need to get the NRW files from my P7700 to a RAW format to use in Photoshop. I do NOT like the Nikon Software. I have view NX2 and it will import the NRW files and convert them to JPEG but I need to be able to use photoshop to work on RAW Files from this camera. HELP. Thanks. Is Nikon trying to keep its customers from using Adobe Software? I hope not.
You probably know that Photoshop uses the Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) plug-in to read RAW image files. ACR version 7 supports NRW files from the P7700, but I'm pretty sure that no earlier version of ACR does. ACR 7 is only compatible with Photoshop CS6, so if you have an older version of Photoshop, I fear you will be out of luck.
There may be a way around it by converting to DNG, but I'll let those who know more about it follow that up
Blame Adobe not Nikon. I have a D800 and had PSE 9. I tried updating PSE 9 but it wouldn't accept D800 NEF files. I went on the Adobe forum and was told that I had to update to PSE 11 in order to be able to process D800 files. I found PSE 11 on sale at B&H for 49.99 so I bought it. Sale only lasted a few hours. Later that same day it was 69.99.
