"Capture NX 2 - Dual Monitor Usage"

Burbank, US

I just added a second monitor to my photo computer and have a
Capture NX 2 question. When I double click on a file in the CNX2
browser, it always opens on the same screen. I can drag it to the
second screen then press <f> and it will fill the second screen.
How do I set CNX2 to open the image on the second screen
so I don't have to drag the image over?
I assume I am doing something wrong in the
Workspaces -> Additional Screen settings.

Thanks

I have found that if you always let at least one image remain on the second monitor, all subsequent images will open on that monitor too.

Unfortunatly, this does not work for me. Even with one image open in a window on the second monitor, when I double click on another image in the CNX2 browser, it always appears on the first monitor, even if it's under the CNX2 browser.

Any suggestions?

OK, try doing it from the edit workspace instead of from the browser workspace.

Drag what you want where you want it, then save the Workspace.

Window > Workspaces > Save Workspace.

Name the Workspace as you please, then click OK. Next time you open CNX2, and the windows are all messed up, you can restore the Workspace by

Window > Workspaces > My Workspaces. Choose the name you saved it with earlier.

I know about My Workspaces and usually use one. The issue is that even if I save a workspace with an open image on my second monitor, when I open a new image it always shows up on the first (left) monitor. Then I have to drag it to the second monitor.

I have not tried this from the 'edit' workspace yet as karlm suggested. I'll try this tonight.

Have you Saved the Workspace after you move the window?

Yes. I saved a new workspace with one image open on the second monitor. Opening new images still appear on the first monitor. I wonder if it matters if the open image when I save the workspace is in a window or full-screen. I think I'll go try both.

Don't move just the image Window. Move the entire pallete window.

Oh. I wasn't clear on my goal. I want the second monitor to ONLY contain the image. Eather in a window or after pressing <f> full screen. This works except that every time I click to open a new picture in the CNX2 browser, the image opens on the first monitor.

I don't think CNX2 will do that.

I am starting to think that also. I guess I'll just drag the image over to the second monitor and press <ctrl>-0 and then f. That works (I was just trying to be lazy and not have to 'drag'.)
