I've been running CNX2 on Windows 7 x64 with no issues to report.

I have not got around to trying NX but I can say that Lightroom 2 x64 runs beautifully on Win 7 x64. Until Spyder3 run on Win 7 I probably won't be using the new OS much.

An update. I upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 BETA (build 7000, 32 bit). Spent many hours troubleshooting a lack of internet connection, which was ultimately resolved by uninstalling ZoneAlarm.

Nevertheless, I'm up and running:

Capture NX 2 and View NX work great (perform better)
Spyder 3 Pro recalibrates and sets the profile correctly. pcspecialist3, you might want to check for an update from CV ... I received one (client and utility updated) recently.

So far it's at least as stable as Vista. Hope that helps, Ben

Ben,

Thanks for the info, I'll look for the update though I bet there is nothing for x64 just yet.

And for anyone that is curious, Windows 7 does look promising, much more so than Vista ever was. Even in beta stage it is faster than Vista and I've never known a beta to be very fast compared to the final rtm so when this thing goes rtm I expect something from MS worth getting excited about and I haven't said that in many, many years.

driver support from hardware vendors already seems better than Vista was until recently - only in the last 6 months have I seem solid drivers for Vista. Sure, my Spyder3 doesn't have drivers yet (or maybe it now does) but I really didn't expect much from datacolor as their predecessor was pretty bad.

Is Windows 7 going to be an SP update for current Vista installations, or is it something that will have to be purchased?

From what I read, it's not clear what the model will be. A free upgrade would go a long way to helping people forget about Vista. So I'm hoping.

Windows 7 is not a service pack. It's major release and won't be free. The pricing structure hasn't been announced yet but there will be an upgrade path.

I using windows 7 ultimate release edition (what is being sold to the public since the official release)and there are some issues with win 7 and nx2. Mostly that Nx2 kicks you out unexpectedly. it's a pain and I'm waiting for Nikon to catch up to the 21 century (it seemed to take "decades" when vista was released years ago) an issue a fully win 7 compatible stable of software.
