Hi everyone, This may seem trivial to some of you well versed Nikonians, but I am hitting the wall and need help. I have updated my camera from D300 to D300S and am no longer able to download Raw format files as I am sure I need to update my version of the program. And this is where I get stumped, first I get into the help section of my program and enter the equipment I use and look for update and keep getting this message "Could not communicate with the Nikon server. Please try again later" Later doesn't work ! I then tried to manually go to the nikon site and download the 2.2.6 version, and I haven't been able to transfer it into the program. I am still at a learning stage and really not getting any of this, I don't think this is very user friendly, and I could use your help. Thank you in advance. Connie

Connie:
I'm not totally understanding your question, but my suggestion is:
Go to the Nikon software download website. Download the full version of Campture NX2 2.3.0. Save this to your desktop. Then double-click the icon on the desktop to install it.
It may say something like - "an earlier version is found, do you want to replace it?" Click yes and let the new version install. You may have to enter your Product Key.
If this doesn't solve your problem, reply with some more detail of the steps you are going through trying to "download Raw format files to NX2".

What is the full version number for your Nikon View NX 2?
New camera models with RAW image capability require most software to have some type of update applied to recognize the new camera model and its file layout.
You have to go to your region's Nikon site and down load the latest copy of Nikon View NX 2. Once downloaded, you then need to install it by double clicking on the downloaded file. This will start the install using the downloaded file, this file is program designed to install a program.
You will be prompted about the older version and you do want to replace it.
