"Where's the "Save" Icon in View NX2?"

Frederick, US

I can't seem to locate the save command in the menu system, nor is there a Save icon that I can click on. When I read View NX2 Help, it implies that there is in fact a Save icon. What am I missing?

Hi Jerry
I just had a look, I can't find one either,
I do know it saves automatically but could be a negative thing for people using jpeg only, with NEF files, I guess it doesn't matter
Regards,
Gary

When you are in the "Edit" Screen, the save icon (looks like a disk) is visible at the lower right when the adjustment panel is open. Initially the save icon is greyed out until changes are made the the image.

The way I have my View NX2 laid out, it's right at the bottom of the right-hand Adjustments/Metadata panel. There's a bar with a RESET button as well as SAVE and SAVE AS icons. They are greyed out, but become active once you have modified the selected image

Jerry

There is one bug. Don't use the Save As icon on the bottom right - it saves the image at as medium or lower quality JPEG - about a 2mb file. If you are editing in View NX2, I find Convert works better than Save As.

If you Save adjustments to a NEF, there is no limitation on reversing those changes in View or in Capture.
