"NX2 Browser Problem"

Savannah, US

I recently tried to open some raw files I had shot in the NX2 browser, but it won't load them - or any of my other folders of NEF files. What's this all about. I can open an individual photo to edit, but can't get a browser display of a folder of images. It's probably operator error, but I'm stumped. Anyone? (BTW I cleared the cache, but no joy). Version 2.2.7.

Rich

When you are in the browser just to the right of the color codes and stars there is a drop down menu that lists the file types that will show in the browser (All, Nef, jpg, tiff, etc) Check this and see if
All is unchecked. Hope this helps.

Mick - Running Win7.

Mike - Already did that. Checked Nef/NRF only. Did a little further checking, and I can't seem to get jpegs to display either - regardless of whether I check "All Images" or "jpeg only". Very strange.

I'm wondering if I need to reinstall NX2. I can't seem to find any reason for the software to start behaving like this.

Check that 'Filtering' is not active -see in top left of screen. If you see a tick click on it to cancel filtering.
The tick may be adjacent to the row of coloured numbers or the stars.

Chris,

That was it. Thanks so much for saving me more agitation. I'm afraid I don't have much patience for this type of thing. Nikonians to the rescue - again!

Rich,
Glad to help, it is easy to get caught out !
The problem I have with View NX2 is a failure to opens images in succession to full screen as part of my initial sorting and selection stage. 3 or 4 will open OK, then they either fail completely to open or partially black out, or just freeze.
I have to use the previous version of VNX which is fine. Nikon so far have no solution.
It is a pity because otherwise I like the VNX2 interface.
Chris.

Chris,

I'm afraid I can't help you on this question. Although I like View NX2 a lot, I have recently bought PhotoMechanic and have been learning it. It's a good browser/ingester. Took me a while to decide it was worth the price, but when they offered a good deal earlier this year, I bought in. I like it. So, that's my help for your View NX2 problem. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.
