As far as processing is concerned what is the difference between a raw and a
> tiff captured image?
> IE if I set image capture to tiff vs raw--before processing---is there a
> difference in the performance of the NX2 programs handling the 2 captures?

Data, baby. Data. Tons more data in a RAW file. Much more to work with. More flexibility to fix things in post-processing.
