In the past, I had always purchased my equipment from B&H. When I bought my D3s I was unable to acquire one from that vendor. Someone here posted that Amazon had them and they did. Sadly, my state of residence has bullied Amazon into charging sales tax so I will no longer be able to make large purchases from them. Seven percent on three grand gets up there quickly. I never understood the mechanics of why Amazon had the D3s and B&H did not. I am on the waiting list for a D800E at B&H. I am still a bit unclear as to whether or not it is necessary to buy the E over the basic 800 but my instincts are telling me that I will regret it if I do not.
