The good news first, no matter what, I am upgrading from my D5000. So, now that we have that out of the way and decided, I am starting to rationalize on WHY I should have one over the other.
My wife is really, really hooked on this hobby, so my rationalization would be to go to the 'pro' camera now while I have the cash, and not need to worry for a long time.
However, the D7000 seems to be a GREAT camera that would certainly meet every need of mine, is newer, and has some nice upgraded features along with the extra pixils.
If I go with the D7000, I will get the KIT with the 24 - 120 mm VR lens. I already have the afs 70 - 300 VR. So I would be good.
I would plan on getting a similar EXPENSIVE lens for the D700.
My question that all relative newbies probably ask (probably annoying and I apologize) is the FX chip significantly better than the DX.
I apologize if I am asking very simple questions, but there are serious hobby-ists and pros out here that hopefully could guide me in the right direction.
Thanks, and I hope you aren't all laughing hysterically at this delemna of mine!
