My experice is just the opposite. I have used Promaster batteries ( which I believe are rebadged Delkin's) for years and they are every bit as good if not better than the Nikon battery that came with the camera.
As far as I know the Promaster that I bought with my D80 back in 2007 is still being used by the granddaughter, and it even had a higher amp/hr rating then the Nikon.
Personally, I would stay away from the unbranded e-bay specials, but would not hesitate to use another Promaster.
