Accidently turning on bracketing is a fairly common issue here in these forums. It is easy to accidently push the bracketing button and set a number of exposures without realizing that you have done it.
Look in the viewfinder and see if the letters BKT are anywhere on the right side of the information display.
It is worth looking into as the camera should not completely stop after 5 shots even with 45mb/s cards. Note that Jim H. above tested a 30mb/s card and his camera slowed but did not stop. If yours is stopping after 5 shots then something is amiss.
