Unlike my D700, bought new in 8/08 and sold 2/13, my D7000 is just 2 months over 2 years in age. Somehow, and not necessarily reasonably, before the 700 left, it willed itself into becoming not only a D800, but a D600 as well. I had absolutely NOTHING to do with this. I was convinced.
However, convincing the wife was more difficult.
How's this for rationalization? Having both the D600 and D800 makes it totally unnecessary to wait for the D400, which would just cost much more anyway. And what would my poor collection of FX lenses do if I sold the D7000 without replacing it?
So my D7100 is on order at one of my local dealers. And the D7000 will get a new lease on life with a new, grateful owner.
