I'll be waiting. I definitely want one of these, it's just that I don't need it right now. My D7000 does fine for summer outdoor field sports, and I can't come up with the cash, right now. I'll wait until next fall for the price to drop, for the supply to increase, and for the odd chance that a D400 comes along to compare it to - though I can't imagine what a D400 would offer me that I need over a D7100, except maybe a chance to look like a pro.
I never buy a new product when it first comes out. It has less to do with quality issues than with price. I like to let early adopters pay the "New" premium. I wait at least a year for DSLR's, so that I get a 10% discount, typically. I do the same thing with cars. I recently bypassed the new Cadillac ATS because it's brand new, and nobody is discounting them. When my current lease is up, they'll be giving them away for $6,000 off the sticker.
I bought my D7000 a year after release for $1,000 (it released at $1,200). A friend just bought one for $700, brand new. That is a GREAT camera for that price.
