Page 26 would be less misleading if that "Wide Area AF-assist" feature were not shown in the line art on a page that is headed "Setting the SB-600's Flash Mode". It d does not need to be shown there.

OK, the SB-600 wide area AF-assist is a feature that can be turned on in Custom Settings (SB-600 manual, page 53).

I thouhht stan said that the assit is ?IR, but perhaps I misread. I know that IR is not visible. Some Sony cameras see IR, for example, but this is not a Sony.
