Hi William,

Welcome to Nikonians!
Each of us has our own uniqrequirementsnts based on our shooting style and the subject we shoot. Some of us can easily shoot thousands of frames in a weekend, others well under a hundred.
Personally I keep two cards in my cameras that have two slots and carry at least 4 extra cards for each body.
If you often find yourself waitng for the buffer to clear, investing in faster cards is more than likely worth the additional investment.
If you never fill the buffer you can save quite a bit by buying slower cards.
In my older bodies I continue to use older 4GB & 8GB cards.
In my newer bodies I use 16GB & 32GB cards.

Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

Best Regards,
Marty
