This is exactly what I assumed as well, they work find on most images. It wasn't until today that I noticed it was doing something weird to my flower shot. It was a basic macro style image of a red flower in bloom, in capture NX it looked great, in C1 it looked great, but as soon as I selected the Nikon profile in C1 the red became blown out/contrasty and lost detail.

I do realize they are just .icm files and not styles, I wonder about the tone curve though, maybe it's possible the .icm tone curve doesn't work well with the C1 styles for all images, particularly the flower image. I think the best thing would be to post examples, but not sure how to do that here, I will perhaps look into it, in the mean time I will have a look at what C1 is doing and try to decipher why the red channel is becoming blown out.
