Hi Steve,

Get a rain cover for your D5200.
Consider it cheap insurance.
They are available in a wide range of prices and levels of protection from single use disposables to Think Tank Hydrophobias and Aqua Tech Sports Covers.
I won't even use my D3 series bodies in the rain (even in light rain or a drizzle) without a rain cover. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
