You make a good point. If it's not small enough to fit in my pocket, I'd rather carry a small DSLR.
Mirrorless is not much smaller than a DSLR and, with the lens attached, it's not going to fit in my pocket. The only P&S option for me is the $650 Sony RX-100. I also looked at the V2 and couldn't convince myself to get one because, again, it's not going fit in my pocket. If I have to carry a bag, it's not going make any different if it is a mirrorless or a DSLR. Besides I have a lens collection at home to choose from. I actually see myself using a D5200 for travel.
