"Using my Girlfriends 'beginners' D5100"

San Francisco, US

I'm really inpressed with the D5100! I've just sold my D700 in preperation for a D800 soon. The D5100 has only been used for video so far so I thought I'd take it out on a walk with my mothers dogs to see if could get some nice snaps. I have to say I wasn't expecting it to keep up with the two turbo charged collies but even with a rattly old 18-200 VR it performed admirably. I quite enjoyed the challenge of just using a single are af point and I really think it brushed up on my technique. Probably a good thing before the more demanding D800 arrives!
Here are a few of the shots....
Thanks
Rich
