"Best Prime lens for D3000?"

US

I'm shopping around for a Prime lens for my D3000, and I'm wondering if anyone has a lens to recommend? This lens is the one i'd like to buy, based on the raving reviews about it and it's low pricetag, but I can't get a straight answer on whether or not AF will work on the D3000.

One user said yes, another said no. I've been told this lens, the 35mm prime, will AF on the D3000, but it costs more and seems less popular in the reviews.

Anybody have any insight on this matter?

I'm really looking for an all purpose prime for low lighting and sports photography.

Thanks!
