I have a question about Program Mode. When you set your camera on Program do you have to change aperture or shutter speed at all or just let the camera set it however it wants to. If the camera sets it itself what happens if you change the ISO and still can't get a light picture?

I had the grandkids yesterday and we were outside, early evening, and still could not get a bright enough picture. Thanks for any ideas.
