If you're looking for an FX format, the D700 is the most cost effective one. Nearly all of your lenses are FX, so you aren't going to be replacing much of anything if at all. But I would wait a few days until the supposed D800 announcement before purchasing. It's supposed to be announced on Tuesday. And then if you decide to go DX again, there is still the D7000.

Many have gone D200 --> D700.

An undeniable paradox: To think that there is any such thing as an absolute rule is at worst naïve, and at best, shortsighted. There is no such thing as an always-true, all context- or situation-salient, absolute rule that always holds true…including this one!
