I am having the exact same problem. Could someone please help me. I am doing everything stated above . I a downloaded the zip file and my IMAC shows me a folder called custom-pc
I copied this folder into another folder called Nikon. After I did this the camera states that there are no files on my card. I then copied the files into the folder called nikon and still the same result and lastly put the files directly into the window where the 2 other folders are present and same result. Am I doing something wrong. Please help.

PS I was able to easily get Nikon Portrait and Landscape pic control on my camera from the nikon site.
