It will be pretty funny to watch people boarding the plane with 200-400's looped around their necks! But I may just be one of these people!
Seriously, the Aerogal page is a little confusing on carry-on luggage (http://www.aerogal.com.ec/informacion-de-viaje/antes-de-volar/?lang=en). It isn't clear if you can can have a carry-on bag _and_ an additional item or just one item total. The following almost leads me to believe it is two items:
"One carry-on bag may be transported which has a maximum weight of 10 kilograms (22 pounds), and a maximum combined linear measurement (length + width + height) that does not exceed 115 centimeters (45 inches), since all carry-on luggage must be stowed in the overhead compartment or below the seat in front of the passenger.
"Each passenger may take with them in the cabin, under their care and at no extra cost, one of the following articles: women’s purse, blanket, cane, camera or binoculars, photography or video equipment or a laptop computer; baby items to be consumed during the flight, a baby carrier that complies with FAA standards; wheelchairs, crutches or prostheses for the use of the traveler, only if they depend on said items."
