I think you've gotten some good advice. I am also a CS5 user and have taken (struggled through) many courses. You might consider becoming a NAPP member (www.photoshopuser.com) which is a good deal for the money and offers many tutorials, photo reviews and experts whom you can ask for advice. I think you will have achieved a new level when you find yourself picking the PS tools because you know what you want to do and which tool can do the job.
