#24. "RE: Helicopters and the Bambi Bucket Drill ..." In response to In response to 22
Boston Area, US
I recently got my first speeding ticket in about 25 years. I'll be fighting it at a hearing later this week, with no more than a 50-50 chance of winning. I'm more upset with the town for deliberately stressing revenue collection over safety, but the officer in question went out of his way to ensure I got a ticket rather than a warning.
OTOH, not an hour ago I was coming out of an ATM kiosk when a police car pulled up responding to a silent alarm. The officer handled the situation perfectly and politely. In my travels, I've come to the conclusion that law enforcement people are human. They have good days. They have bad days. Many are great people who've chosen to take on a nearly impossible job. And a very few are bullies using their badge to further that pursuit.
