Thank you for your kind comments. This is an image I've wanted to capture for some time, and finally got the chance.
One of my long-standing personal beliefs is: If it isn't fun, I shouldn't be doing it.
Agreed: stacks like this do invoke a variety of emotions. This stack was the last link to be completed allowing non-stop travel from the west to the east coast on I-10, without a stop sign or traffic light. That said, we have this unwritten rule in Phoenix: you must live at least fifty miles from your job. During the morning and evening rush hours the stack is frequently bumper to bumper, stop and go traffic, in all four directions. By 5:30 pm, when this image was captured, it is pretty well over.
