You are talking about the art world that is echelons above the level I am talking about. I am talking about the smaller local gallery.

Over on this side of the pond there can be bitter debates however about the funding of the arts using public funds. That said, because of the present economy, the arts are suffering whether it is the fine arts or performing arts. Corporate donations are down. Art and music programs in public schools are suffering as well. The arts have a vital role in society but at what cost? That has been the struggle over here.
