Wow . . . all you experienced photographers at Nikonians can't recognize a calibration target when you see one? For shame!

The U.S., the USSR (formerly), Russia (now), Canada, China, Germany, France, Israel and India (among other countries) have all established various types of ground-based, satellite calibration targets.
