I'm all for more dynamic range Dan. I've added it to my list. If the new D800 is really 36mp, I don't think we'll get more DR, or improved low noise/high ISO, based on current technology, unless Nikon has significantly distanced itself even more than before from Sony and Canon, through new and/or improved sensor technology, which is certainly a possibility. If it has, if Nikon has discovered a way to put 35mp on an FX sensor and improved DR and noise/ISO over the current D700/D3S 12.1mp sensors then will that ever wow the industry.

In fact, at this point, I'm prepared to be hugely disappointed by the new camera, based on the current rumors. I'm concerned it won't come close to the feature set and specification design I desire.

Time will tell.
