""Anatomy of a Photography Project"" Wed 28-Sep-11 11:48 PM by MelT

During spring of 2010, I undertook my most ambitious photography project I have ever done. The project name was "Old Towne Exposed". It included 23 men and 23 women (ages 25-78) in various stages of undress doing everyday activities.
It caused a statewide media sensation to include a front page story on the Sunday Business section of a statewide circulated newspaper and was reported about on the PBS documentary program "Virginia Currents" as well. A petition drive was held to block the opening of the exhibit and was presented to the City Council. The silliness surrounding this simple photography exhibit got way out of control. I have a short write-up on my blog with a link to the behind-the-scenes story of the project.
If you ever considered taking on the challenge of a large photography project, you may want to considered reading this. I speak of the time challenges, photography challenges, creative challenges, media challenges and the personal challenges and frustrations I had. I am just a simple photographer and I found myself on a runaway train.
