Follow along, if you will, on a little speculative analogy in a different area: musical instruments.
If you look at modern electronic keyboards – the type with the auto accompaniments – you’ll see they are changing and boasting more and more features every year. The kind of person who buys one of these keyboards (and I know a few) is far more likely to replace it with the latest and greatest than the kind of person who goes out and buys a piano.
You, Al, are the classical pianist who has developed his talent over the years. The people who are swapping to the latest models are the ones who want to be able to make satisfying music for their own entertainment but don’t have the desire, or dedication, to match that level of skill.
