Oh, my turn? .kay....
I am 24, living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and yes, we do have cars and no we don't go to work on dog-sleds...
Anyway, I have a Bachelors degree, much like the guy in the commercial selling drinks on the beach, which is what I thought I'd be doing until I managed to get a job developing databases for a company in the leasing/finance/contract business... Quite challenging.
I found Nikonians before it was called "Nikonians" and it was still "Nikonian" quite accidentally, by stumbling around the various links on the net trying to get the low-down on Nikon Metering and to see how many people out there were using an F60.
In August of 2000 I bought my F100, and so the passion continues. To the point where the F100 has successfully weaned me off of my vintage Pentax Spotmatic II kit (fully loaded)... and full force into the Zen of Nikon.
I'm not a pro photog, I'm more of an inquisitive amateur - I tend to sponge information if I feel it's interesting, so here I am... I like it coming at me fast and furious. Now if only I had the same zeal in University...
Photography is not my first passion. Music is. I'm a bass player, I play electric 5 string fretless (oooh...ahh) it's an extended range instrument.
I play regularily in a well-organized club in Toronto, which works like a "tennis club" where people are teamed up to play songs they like.
I have a catalog of about 600 songs, most of which came way before I was born, because I am about 20 years younger than MOST of the members of the club - but I love music, so I play music.
Now, if only I could combine the two... I was thinking of Rock-photography...
One thing I love about photography, is that I can run away with my camera for a couple of hours and enjoy seeing things...
In music, I often have to deal with some pretty jaded people, and although I can be jaded at times, most of these people I call jaded, could probably be desscribed as mis-guided... It's a product of the music industry.
I am also working on building a digital recording studio just out of the city for some audio projects I have in mind.
Oh, and I've begun to rekindle a bit of a relationship with my ex-gf... So, I could probably post the neat little "spur of the moment" portrait I took of her and not get into too much trouble... <grin>...
