Obviously there is a very small window of opportunity, a day or two on each side of the winter solstice, to get this shot with the sun rising on this well known street. It was a very cold January morning, about 16 degrees and my finger where aching from the cold waiting for that one minute window to open up.

After I got this shot I very quickly switched lenses, recomposed and shot the next one (next post below) with my fisheye.
