I really like the idea of a fixed lens ideally suited to the sensor. Ideas carried forth by Sigma with their DPx series cameras and the Ricoh GXR camera. It just needs a subtle change in philosophy from using interchangeable lenses on the same camera body and sensor from just using a different camera body and/or sensor optimally matched to the lens. This works for the shorther focal lengths but obviously falls down with the longer telephoto lenses. With the smaller sizes of these new fixed lens cameras, this is ideal for street photography and for those of us that want to carry something lighter without compromising IQ.
Having said all that. I had a serious look at the Coolpix A being a Nikonian of old and..... bought a Ricoh GR!! Both cameras are superb but the Coolpix fell down on price. C'est la vie.
