Sorry to hear it. Tough question. I have a D50 that I still use a lot, which has the same sensor as the D70s, and I've considered this for my D50. And despite how much I like the camera I've pretty much already decided that when it quits, it's R.I.P. I'll be interested to hear what you decide.

I've always assumed it would be the shutter that would fail, and repair would be a few hundred dollars. Maybe it would be less to repair your D70s, and might be worth it. But with over 200,000 exposures, it might be that after your repair the shutter would soon fail, with as much use as you've already gotten out of it.
