Thanks for the reply.
However, there's a problem with that theory: One PC has a calibrated monitor (XP Pro) and the other does not (Windows 7), but I'm seeing the same behavior on both systems: same image in both apps (NX and LR) using same color space (ProPhoto) looks completely different. Neither app cares about monitor calibration; that's a global sytem thing.
