#35. "RE: Capture NX 2.3 released by Nikon - a fair amount of changes" In response to In response to 22 Wed 21-Dec-11 07:47 PM by robsb

Eric are you saying you are running CEP3.003 under 64 bit Win 7? I have just installed NX2.3 as 32 bit as it recognized my updated CEP 3.003 and gave me the warning that CEP would not work in 64 bit CNX2. I also had updated VNX2 to ver 2.5. I saw mention of being able to install both the 32 bit and 64 bit CNX 2.3 but have not found the directions to do that. I have a 64 bit Win 7 Pro set up with 16 GB RAM and an Intel i7 2600K processor and my old CNX2 ran very fast in that environment. I also have a XFX Radeon 6970 Video card and I am using the on board video graphics in combination to accelerate video performance. Since Windows stores 64 bit versions in a different folder than 32 bit versions I would assume you could load both, but I am not sure how they would then handle the files. My guess is is you open a file that used CEP in 64 bit, it would just render the file without those features just as if you opened a file in the older version and did not have CEP installed. I would assume that if you copied the folders undr Programs (x86) to a safe place you could then install the 64 bit version, but perhaps you need to do this in reverse and do 64 bit then put back the 32 bit files and do a reinstall of 32 bit. Anyone try this?
