There is an interesting comparison between the D800 and a Hasselblad in the most recent issue of c't Digital Photography. For the D800 they used mostly Zeiss primes, but also the 85mm f/1.4G Nikkor and the 70-200 f/2.8 VRII Nikkor.
My take on the article is that the D800 itself stands up pretty well, but most lenses do not allow the D800 to reach it's full potential or come close to matching the Hasselblad and their glass.
The only lens they were well pleased with was the 100mm Zeiss. The 70-200 came out quite poor, by comparison.
Of course, keep in mind you are comparing a $20,000+ body/lens combination to a $5,400 one. I should hope you get something for your money.
