That was a mouthwatering first post. Pity no one seems to know how to add a spreadsheet attachment to a message for everyone to look at.

If you want to change the Shooting Bank names (and possibly certain other fields as well) in the spreadsheet, you'll need the password.

I will sound dumb - but can you please explain why and how you would use this spreadsheet? Sorry I am a beginner and new to digital and D700.

Ken Rockwell puts it this way:

"Menu banks seem like memories, but they aren't. You can't save or recall them. All they do is return you the settings you had when you last changed to another one.

For instance, if you change things in A, and go to B, you'll be in whatever settings you last had when you were in B. If you change some things and go back to A, you'll be back where you were when you left A. If you go back to B, you'll be where you were when you last left B.

There is no way to lock or save these. The best way to deal with them is consciously make an effort to shift into each as you enter an assignment to which they apply, and deliberately change out of them when you're done that assignment."

I believe it's a un-practical design. Occasionally, I'd like to got back to base point for my settings. While I use Save/Load camera settings occasionally, I'd like settings to be written down for comparison purposes and my own sanity.

This spreadsheet provides a medium for you to record your preferred settings (and possibly print them).

How to use it? Just open the spreadsheet and navigate through the different tabs. It's self explanatory. Give it a try!

Don't spend too much time fiddling with the spreadsheet. You're better off just shooting away and enjoying your camera.

Thanks for the spread sheet,it gave me a basis from which to start on my then new D700.

With type of shooting I do I have made adjustment in my banks. But I always keep "A" bank as a wildcard bank, for unique situations. When finished with the unique situation in A bank, I hit reset to default. Hell, I figure Nikon's defaults aren't that bad.

When I am trying to open the link it says (Page Not Found), is there any other way I can access it? Thanks

I'm getting the Page Not Found message too, Let's bump this up and hope somebody notices.

You will see on your right hand corner of the screen, its prompting you to copy and type in the letters you see in the box. Then hit ENTER.
It opens a new page. Click on "Download your file here" box near the bottom of the page.

Okay, folks, I've given it a shot. I've tried to post Hqasem's D700 spreadsheet.

This is my first try, and I'm just learning how to make webpages, so there are bound to be mistakes. If you find any (in the webpage or in the spreadsheet itself), in particular broken links, etc., please send me a PM so that I can try to fix it.
